Brad Pitt’s new film titled Bullet Train is now exclusively in theaters for the next few months before heading to Netflix as part of the Pay-1 agreement. The following is an estimated guide when it will be for those in the United States, India and other regions.
Based on Japanese novels, this action comedy features a large actor and about a man assigned to take a briefcase. Simple right? Well, no. He is actually on the train full of killers and other bad people. Starring with Pitt in this film are Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, and Andrew Koji. The film was released in theaters on August 5, 2022 and premiered for various reviews from critics.
Now the best way to watch bullet train is on the big screen but if you are going to wait, bullet train will be one of the first big rivals of the new Sony agreement with Netflix in the US and will come to Netflix India as well.
When will Bullet Train be on Netflix?
Details around the first window with Sony have not been fully refined so we don’t have the right date. However, we can use previous agreements with Starz to provide rough estimates when the bullet train will be on Netflix. Our research shows that the Sony film before 2022 went to Starz between 150 and 223 days after their theater release.
So far, we have seen several smaller Sony films coming to Netflix in 2022 around 120 days after release but Uncharted took 168 days. If that happens with bullet train, it will be available on January 20, 2023. To be safe, we are currently estimating that the bullet train will be on Netflix around December 2022 and at the end of February 2023.
This will then be available on Netflix for 18 months before moving to Disney and in this case, it is likely to go upstream. As a rough estimate, this will occur around the summer of 2024. Uncharted and Morbius are one of the first waves of the Sony film coming to Netflix. Other titles such as Spider-Man: throughout Spider-Verse also confirmed to come to our Netflix in the end.
Will other regions of Netflix accept bullet training?
The possible answer for this is yes, even though we don’t have specific. Netflix in some regions receives a new Sony film in a timely manner, even though Netflix or Sony promotes any agreement. Netflix India consistently received a new Sony film 120 days after release, which means you will see the film added on December 3, 2022.
Netflix Canada and England received the Sony 2 years after their theater release. Examples of cases, Fantasy Island, released in February 2020, landed on Netflix CA and New England -this new in January 2022. That also applies to regions such as Belgium, Greece, Japan, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and South Africa.
