In the ivankiv city of Ukraine, about 50 miles from the capital Kyiv, young girls cut their hair short became ‘less attractive’ and avoid being raped by occupying the Russian army, according to Deputy Mayor of Maryna Beschastna.The city was released on March 30 after more than a month was occupied by Russian forces.

Ivankiv is not the only part of Ukraine where the rape report appears.In one example, a Ukrainian woman said she was raped by Russian soldiers when her husband was shot dead, while her son who was the most frightened of four years old crying in the next room.
