Singapore Executes Mentally Challenged Indian-Origin Man In Drugs Case

Singapore: Nagagaenthran Dharmallingam, a Malaysian man of Indian origin mentally condemned, sentenced in a drug trafficking case, was executed in Singapore today, his family said on Tuesday after his mother’s appeal was rejected by the Court of Appeal.Dharmalingam, 34, was hanged this morning and his remains will be brought back to IPOH, a city in northern peninsular Malaysia, said the Bernama news agency cited Dharmalingam’s brother Navin Kumar.He was sentenced in 2010 and had exhausted all legal appeals.
