What is likely the larger reason for cancelation is that the controversy surrounding the assembly of the series led multiple writers to quit thanks to the alleged “racist exploitation and abuse” by series showrunner Katie Cappiello. Netflix may have chosen to cancel the series to assist distance itself from the show’s controversy.
Joey has yet to ascertain justice after her rape at the hands of her former best friends, Luke and George. Poor Sid wasn’t given the chance to return out himself, and instead, it had been his sister’s ex-boyfriend that outed him. because the star of the swim team, Sid features a lot of pressure on his shoulders, but his diligence has paid off after Harvard accepted his college application. Season 2 is probably going to explore Sid’s sexuality and his budding romance with Victor, and therefore the homophobia he may face at the hands of a number of the scholars .
