BCCI on Monday revealed the squad of 15 Indian members for the upcoming 2022 Asian Cup tournament. The squad witnessed the return of former Virat Kohli captain, who missed the Western Indies tour and was rested from Zimbabwe Odis and Deputy Captain KL Rahul, who regained his fitness while the reading of the Bumrah Jasprit Star missed the bus because of the back injury. The former Chairman of the Kiran More Selection Committee, in his assessment of the squad, indeed praised the overall choice of the team, but questioned Indian veteran spinning place Ravichandran Ashwin.
India chose two spinners and three spin rounds for the Asian Cup scheduled starting from August 27 at the UAE. Spin attacks including Yuzvendra Charahal, Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Hoododa. Why was he not dropped, then why was he not there, then did he not play the T20 in England and then suddenly why he was in the T20 for Western Indies? This is confusing for all of us.
